Everybody loves brunch. Everybody. Sometimes we just don't have the time, money, or patience for the leisure brunch of our dreams. Also, people LOVE food trucks. They're hip. They're cool. They have wheels and serve you food. What's not to love? Seriously. Can you think of anything? I present to you: Brunched in the Face! The coolest and least pretentious brunch-themed food truck coming to the SF Bay Area. I know you're thinking that this sounds great and how can I ever pull it off? Well... that's what I'm working on! I've been testing recipes and crafting my menu since the end of May. I have held taste testing parties for my friends to get feedback on such potential menu items and have been working on the paperwork to move forward. To put this short: I'm working on the Brunched in the Face reality, but I need some help! Now on to me. I'm Dana. I'm 25. I live in Oakland, CA. I am also a dedicated person who loves food. I particularly love breakfast. If I could eat breakfast all day everyday, I probably would. For me cooking is more than just satiating people's appetites. For me, cooking is a way to express my creativity while satiating people's souls with delicious and wholesome food that makes them feel good. That's right. I just want to make you feel good with my sweet potato waffles and bacon.
Food trucks require a lot of start up money. I have already invested a few thousand dollars of my own money to test menu items, cook for my friends to receive feedback, and for the required paperwork that I have begun sorting through. However, I need a truck! And permits! Lots of permits so that I can happily and legally float through the streets of the Bay Area bringing joy, happiness, and Brunch to the people. And trucks are expensive. Used trucks can go as low as $10,000. New trucks can run nearly $200,000. Then there’s the retrofitting for my needs. Gas. Maintenance. Paint. Graphics. Menus. And permits. So I can guarantee you that if I am honored with this $1000 gift that it will undoubtedly be put to the best of uses!
